Life is short... especially someone died when they are just 20, 4 days before her 21st birthday.
Russian supermodel Ruslana Korshunova committed suicide by falling from her ninth floor apartment in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon, around 2:30p.m.
She got the fairy tale face and her long long hair is the essence of her beauty.
Ruslana was discovered by Debbie Jones of Models 1 accidentally in an in-flight magazine.
After that, she became the star in the modeling industry, like the covers of Vogue (Polland, Russia) and Elle (France), ads for Vera Wang, Kenzo, DKNY, and for sure, lots and lots of runway.
Her best friends, agency, and even a doorman think she is a nice person, always smiling and there is no way for her to kill herself. Unfortunitely, you just can't predict what would happened.
This is truly sad, and heart-breaking.
You see?! She is really a beauty.
Not only in her appearance, but in her heart inside.
"Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile."

The Obama Type of Man
After the quickly spread Barack Obama muse rumors, Versace's spokesman clarified that it is the type of man that Obama represents inspired Ms Versace instead of Obama himself, which is " a modern man with a laid back relaxed look and attitude", according to The Daily.
Suits in white and black would definitely the it look for the next summer, but for me, different colors and more relaxed attitude would be a better match with the sunny hot days. See my picks below and more runway looks in vouge.co.uk.
The menswear collection of Spring/Summer 2009 has just finished in Milan. Start from today, Paris would be the paradise for men who loved fashion. Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten are expected to be the key shows that people would pay attendion to.

Fashionable Interns
It is the interns of a lifetime for a lot of people.
The famous pro hockey player, Sean Avery has the diamond opportunity ( golden is not able to describe its importance. ) to work in Vogue this summer as a guest editor of menvogue.com.
Out of my expectation, this athlete don't read about sports, instead, he prefers style section in New York Times. Additionally, he loves clothes and brands like DVN, YSL, Dior... Thus, he wrote to Anna Wintour about his idea for working in vogue as interns.
But some "real" interns didn't agree on how Sean Avery works as an intern, obviously he is different as he is a star, and properly, a marketing tool.

Still remember the youngest talented Christian shines in season 4? I am looking forward to some excellent designers again, hopefully it would be a girl this time.
Here is a sneak peak preview of season 5 of Project Runway by Fashion Indie ( which is not even in bravotv.com ?!)

New faces for A/W
When seasons changed, brands always bring new faces to their Ad campaign.
After Naomi Campbell has replaced Kate Moss to stared in Yves Saint Laurent Autumn/Winter 08-9 Campaign.
Linda Evangelista also faced in the coming season ad for Prada. This did surprised me, as Sasha Pivovarova has faced in Prada campaign for many seasons already.
Now it's Vanessa Paradis turn to take up the role in Miu Miu. The French singer has been confirmed to star in the ad instead of Kirsten Duns. Miuccia Prada has chosen her because she casts a "certain powerful independence." She represents the sport-centric collection in a better way.

Different ways of celebration
The forth of July is the independence day of the US.
The world's largest department store - Macy's will held an annual fireworks show on that day. It becomes a tradition spectacular in the New York City.
A special "150" firework would be shown as an grand opening for the long lasting BIG celebration for the 150th anniversary. The birthday celebration would last from July to December with a special slogan "Inspiring oohs, ahhs and wows for 150 years."
I am sure that the Thanksgiving Day Parade this year would be one of a kind. Also, Supermodel Alek Wek will participate in the anniversary as well.
Lacoste is having their 75 birthday this year, like having the 75th anniversary collection and other crossover projects. Check out Lacoste website for details.

PolyU Fashion Show 2008
There are Saint Martins in UK.
In Hong Kong, we have Polytechnic University.
Yesterday there is the Polyu Fashion Show 2008 in Intercontinental Hotel's ballroom.
A graduation fashion show for the ITC students.
When compares to graduation shows of other designs school, I would say the pieces of PolyU student is more practical, more ready-to-wear and less couture pieces.
Among all the collections, I would pick "The Wo:me:n Attitude" and "Enlive". The first one is the romantic and girly style with a sense of elegance. The one after is just sosososo chic, I definitely would love to wear both of the collection. My favorite dresses would be the wedding couture in the "Virgin Queen Metallia I".

LV in troubles?!
On the 19th Nov 2004, Louis Vuitton flagship shop opened in Hangzhou, China. In the same day, it sale revenue reached 25 million yuan.
However, you know, reality always has a twist.
The shop has been closed for 10 days since 6 June, after the check did by the Zhejiang Administration of Industry and Commerce and collected more than 700 bags there. The reason is a mystery, local news article mostly said this is because of labeling and product quality.
Louis Vuitton China's Executives said this is because of the different labeling system in China and France. Explanations from government official are expected to announce very soon.
It the store has just reopened on the 16th. It definitely affected the huge brand business since there are only few items inside the shop and all leather products would include a small tag to declare the material used. This hugely affect the perception and confident towards Vuitton, which is the MOST important.

Vintage in old and new
There is a lot of fashionista that into the vintage style.
Apart from go to the vintage shop and search among different pieces, there is a new way to shop for vintage product - online shopping.
Nasty Gal originally sells vintage in ebay,
now it has a new home, its own homepage.
It has a wide range of products from dresses to accessories.
Although mostly are not designer items, they all are REAL vintage, properly from 70s.
If you are just into the style itself and love wearing perfect brand new products.
What Comes Around Goes Around maybe suit you better.
Their style is mainly around late 60s and early 70s, established in 1993 by Gerard Maione and Seth Weisser.
It provides collection for men as well.
You can purchase them soon in www.shop.harveynichols.com.

Skin Reset
This is the brand I mostly use for my daily skin caring process.
It has been 4 years I think.
I uses other brands like Sofina, Lancome, Estée Lauder...etc
I would try new things when I see those tempting commercials.
but there is no signs that I would be switching to other brand.
It's Time Reset collection which provides long lasting moisture for skin...
mainly the concept is about reset your skin to the stage when you were born.
Apart from providing moisture to your skin...
it makes sure the moist stays inside your skin!!!
Its new product has added whitening functions...
makes your skin moisture and bright!!!!
Skin care is interesting...
Unlike cosmetic...
Somehow it is not really about how good the product is..
maybe it just depends how the brand suits your skin...
It's just the perfect match of my skin...
It's IPSA!!!
